Angelina Jolie Denies Claims Of A Disturbing ‘Game’ In Casting Process For First They Killed My Father

no title

Even though Angelina Jolie may have gotten very real with the folks over at Vanity Fair for their latest issue, there is one thing she is very strongly denying: she did NOT set up a disturbing “game” to cast children in her upcoming film First They Killed My Father.

The actress spoke out on Saturday evening, vehemently denying accusations that had been flying around about allegedly disturbing actions undertaken by the casting directors for her film.

The controversy all started when Vanity Fair reported about an audition exercise the film’s casting directors allegedly used to weed out impoverished child actors and find their eventual lead:

“In order to find their lead, to play young Loung Ung, the casting directors set up a game, rather disturbing in its realism: they put money on the table and asked the child to think of something she needed the money for, and then to snatch it away. The director would pretend to catch the child, and the child would have to come up with a lie.”

WTF?!

That sounds incredibly disturbing, and intense, and also… not true, according to Angelina.

The mom and actress sounded off in a statement adamantly refuting that claim, saying:

“I am upset that a pretend exercise in an improvisation, from an actual scene in the film, has been written about as if it was a real scenario. The suggestion that real money was taken from a child during an audition is false and upsetting. I would be outraged myself if this had happened. … Every measure was taken to ensure the safety, comfort and well-being of the children on the film starting from the auditions through production to the present.”

Furthermore, another source who had knowledge of the movie’s casting process reportedly backed up Angelina’s statement: the children were aware all they were doing was improvising a scene from the film, and there was no actual money involved.

Whew!

First They Killed My Father premieres on Netflix this September.

Shit Stirrer Ann Coulter Is In A Non-Stop Twitter Beef With Delta Airlines — They Claim Her Tirade Is ‘Unnecessary & Unacceptable’! LOOK!

no title

Ann Coulter wants everyone to know that we’re STILL mad at airlines!

Specifically Delta Airlines, which was the subject of a turbulent Twitter tantrum from the political pundit after a not-so-great flight experience over the weekend.

It all began Saturday afternoon when the conservative launched the first of 32 (and counting!) fiery tweets at the company after she was moved to a more cramped seat than the one she paid for!

Related: Ann Is Jumping Off The Trump Train!

The experience was definitely complaint worthy; the 55-year-old said she was moved from her pre-booked, pre-paid seat with extra room to a more cramped seat on a flight from New York City to West Palm Beach, Florida.

But because she’s Ann Coulter, the tweets were filled with unnecessary insults to the flight attendants, employee training, and even the “dachshund-legged” woman who took her original seat.

Here’s just a few of the over-the-top tweets she fired off:

The tweets only got sassier from there:

Oh, so that’s what it would look like if Donald Trump was articulate and had more time on his hands!

After receiving disparaging tweets for more than the span of a cross-country flight, the airline responded to Coulter on Sunday night, writing:

All that fuss over $30? Clearly times are tough…

Cool your jets, Ann. Next time you might end up like Dr. David Dao!

Ch-ch-check out Delta’s full statement on the matter (below)!

“We are sorry that the customer did not receive the seat she reserved and paid for. More importantly, we are disappointed that the customer has chosen to publicly attack our employees and other customers by posting derogatory and slanderous comments and photos in social media. Her actions are unnecessary and unacceptable.

Each of our employees is charged with treating each other as well as our customers with dignity and respect. And we hold each other accountable when that does not happen.

Delta expects mutual civility throughout the entire travel experience.

We will refund Ms. Coulter’s $30 for the preferred seat on the exit row that she purchased.”

Having A Shitty Day? Read THIS Beautiful Story About A Beach Rescue In Florida!

If this doesn’t renew your faith in humanity, NOTHING WILL!

On Saturday, Roberta Ursey — along with her husband, mother, nephews, and sons — were having some fun in the sun in Panama City Beach, Florida when the entire family nearly lost their lives.

When Ursey left the water, she suddenly heard screams, and realized her sons were trapped by the ocean’s rip current. She told the News Herald:

“They were screaming and crying that they were stuck… People were saying, ‘Don’t go out there.”‘

When Roberta and her family swam to rescue them, they became trapped as well!

“I honestly thought I was going to lose my family that day… It was like, ‘Oh God, this is how I’m going.”‘

The mother says a total of nine people were fighting to stay afloat in around 15 feet of water.

That’s when Jessica Simmons and her husband — who at the time were enjoying a beach-side dinner — saw the commotion and “knew someone was drowning.”

The Alabama-native — who “practically lived in a pool” growing up — grabbed a boogie board and recruited 80 beach goers to form a human chain in order to bring the Florida family to safety.

Simmons told herself:

“These people are not drowning today… It’s not happening. We’re going to get them out.”

While the entire family survived, Ursey’s mother suffered a heart attack and is currently in the hospital in stable condition. The brood has set up a GoFundMe account to cover her medical bills.

Ultimately, Roberta is grateful for Jessica and her husband for their quick and courageous thinking.

“These people were God’s angels that were in the right place at the right time. I owe my life and my family’s life to them. Without them, we wouldn’t be here.”

Truly a miraculous story!

Spider-Man: Homecoming Opens To The Third Biggest Weekend Of The Year!

no title

Good enough for the third best opening of the year!

Spider-Man: Homecoming opened in theaters in style this weekend, to the tune of $117 million across 4,348 theaters at the North American box office!

That’s a HUGE victory for the new release, and marks one of the best openers in all of 2017!!

Related: Shia LaBeouf Arrested On A Variety Of Charges

The flick was critically acclaimed, which helped it some, but Spider-Man: Homecoming was likely set to pop off big no matter what, as the reboot boosts an ailing box office that needed a major summer pick-me-up!

Aside from Wonder Woman‘s opener, there have been some duds in new release the last few weeks, but not now!

Homecoming fell just behind Beauty and the Beast ($174.8 million) and Guardians of the Galaxy, Vol. 2 ($146.5 million) as far as openers go on the year, and bested Wonder Woman ($103.3 million) by a good bit.

Homecoming also took home more than $140 million from globally, giving it an overall haul at $257 million after the first weekend! Whoa!! And that still is without officially opening in China yet!!

Most telling in regards to the bigger picture, of course, is that nothing else new opened from major studios this weekend.

Spider-Man or nothin’!!

Acrobat Performing At Green Day Show Plummets 100 Feet To His Death — And The Whole Thing Is Caught On Camera

no title

This is the worst.

Pedro Aunion Monroy, a 42-year-old acrobat from Brighton, United Kingdom, fell more than 100 feet to his death on Friday night during a Green Day performance at the Mad Cool Festival in Madrid, Spain.

Related: Green Day Brings Out An Anti-Trump Protest Song

Worse still, the accident — which took place high above the stage in an illuminated cage in the middle of a tribute to Prince — was caught on video by fans there for the show.

The video itself fortunately doesn’t show the immediate impact or aftermath, but it’s nevertheless incredibly jarring and should only be viewed with caution by those who can handle what they’re about to see (below):

So, so awful.

Monroy was a director of a performing arts company in Brighton, in addition to his work in performances like these.

In another jarring move after Monroy’s death, Green Day took the stage and performed less than a half hour later — because they were never informed that there was an accident or a death on the stage just minutes before.

WTF?! Who is running this festival??

Our thoughts and prayers are with Monroy’s family, friends, and loved ones. Clearly, so are the thoughts and prayers from Green Day, once they were finally informed of what happened (below):

Such a sad reminder of tragedy and mortality at what should have been such a fun festival.

R.I.P., Pedro Aunion Monroy.

BTS Changed Their Name Overnight, And Fans Are SO CONFUSED!

no title

First off, if you’re not in the know, BTS is a Korean boy band with a HUGE international following.

Second, no, you aren’t learning the name BTS just to learn a new name in five seconds.

Video: Jimin & Jungkook Drop Internet-Breaking Cover Of We Don’t Talk Anymore!

BTS’ name in Korean roughly translates to Bulletproof Boy Scouts. The problem is Bulletproof Boy Scouts, besides sounding like a band whose CD you could buy at a Hot Topic in 2004, does not fit the acronym BTS in English.

So the boy-banders have taken on a new name to go along with their rising international profile — one that fits the letters:

Beyond The Scene.

The group announced the change to their name and logo in a new YouTube video (below).

(And if you didn’t believe us about that huge following, just check that view count!)

Fan reactions ranged from confusion to annoyance to acceptance. See just a few of the reactions (below):

Are you part of the BTS army? If so, what do YOU think of the name change??
